BMW Championship - FedEx Cup Playoff Round Three
Conway Farms Golf Club, Lake Forest, IL
There are many very interesting story lines from the BMW Championship this past weekend and the tournament is not even over yet. Due to a weather delay Sunday, the final round of the BMW will be concluded today (Monday). Live television coverage starts at 10:00 a.m. eastern on Golf Channel.
The interesting stories from the weekend include the amazing round Jim Furyk posted on Friday. Furyk shot an unbelievable 28 on the back nine (his front nine for the day). 59 watch ensued, but it was quite possible for him to go even lower. A 31 on the back rounded out the 59. Furyk became the 6th player in PGA Tour history to post 59. FYI the course par this week is 71.
Another very newsworthy event Friday happend on Tiger Woods’s first hole. After hitting a shot into some trees, Tiger made a double bogey. That bad start would get worse as he’d be assessed a two stroke penalty a few holes later.
While Tiger was in the trees he moved some loose impediments. While attempting to move one stick by his ball, the ball moved. Tiger failed to call himself for the penalty at the time and argued that the ball did not move. He was shown video footage several times before he agreed to the penalty.

Norwegian Suzann Petterson made history this week. The 32 year old took home the Evian Masters trophy, her 13th LPGA Tour victory. The win vaulted Pettersen up to #2 in the Rolex Rankings.
The history? Pettersen became the first player to win the LPGA’s “fifth” major, as this year is the first year the ladies’ tour features their fifth major championship.
