BMW Championship

The talk of the weekend was split between two players at the BMW Championship, Jim Furyk and Tiger Woods. Would Furyk roll with his 59 from Friday and close out the victory at this, the third round of the FedEx Cup playoffs? No. It seems Furyk has some trouble finishing.
The talk of Tiger Woods wasn’t about winning the BMW. Rather many heated discussions are taking place all over the web and through golf media as to whether or not Tiger knew that his ball moved when he was penalized two shots Friday. He had accidentally moved his ball, but didn’t see it move. It was only until PGA Tour officials played him the video that he begrudgingly accepted the penalty.
Tiger did not win the BMW but he accomplished one goal, moving back to first place in the FedEx Cup points standings over Henrik Stenson. He will bring that lead into this week’s Tour Championship at East Lake.
While all of the craziness above was going on, Zach Johnson snuck in from nowhere, firing a final round 65 (-6) to claim a one shot victory over surging Nick Watney. The win, Johnson’s 10th PGA Tour victory, moved Johnson up to 4th in the FedEx Cup standings. Watney moves up to #12.
