PGA Preview: 2012 Web.com Tour
Web.com Tour
Tour Championship
I've listed the Web.com Tour Championship first this week for the weekend preview, because it will be the most fun and best golf to watch this week. The Web.com Tour Championship is the final shot players have at gaining their PGA Tour card. Of the 60 who made it in the field, the top 25 at the end of the week will gain the coveted credentials to play on the PGA Tour.
Host venue for this week's intense tournament is TPC Craig Ranch in McKinney, Texas. Purse is $1 million with the winner's share coming in at $180K, nearly double that of a standard Web.com Tour event. But once again, the prize money is secondary.

Tiger is not the only big name in the field this week in Malaysia. Others include Jason Dufner, Ricky Barnes, J.B. Holmes, Bill Haas and Trevor Immelman.

The 50 and over group is in San Antonio, Texas to play the AT&T Championship. Purse this week is $1.85 million with the winner's share at $277,500. This is the 2nd to last week for players to gain Charles Schwab Cup points coming into the Charles Schwab Cup next week. Host venue is TPC San Antonio, a Pete Dye course which keeps in style with the natural terrain and employs numerous environmental elements native to the area.
In the field this week are most the big guns, excluding perhaps Fred Couples. The hottest players to watch this week are Jay Don Blake, Fred Funk, Tom Lehman, Bernhard Langer and Michael Allen.
