Ben Crane has been more well known for his silly golf videos than his golf game of late. Since 2011 and his last Tour win, Crane’s best successes had been with his video camera.
Crane started out hot, taking the lead in Thursday’s first round and led the tournament wire-to-wire. Crane held on with a final round 73 for a one shot victory. The win did not come easily or quickly, as rain delays forced a 30 hole marathon on Sunday.
In the mix: Troy Merrit with a 2nd place and final round 71, Webb Simpson in 3rd with a final round 65, Matt Every with a final round 70 and Carl Pettersson with a final round 69.

Last week Stacey Lewis captured the #1 ranking in the world, away from Inbee Park. Apparently Park didn’t appreciate that, nor did her putter.
Park’s putter lit it up in the final round, contributing to a 10-under par 61, matching the course record. That mega-low round helped Park leapfrog (ahem) to a three shot victory.
Park had held the top ranking for 59 weeks.

The Champions Tour’s Legends of Golf is a team event. Two-player teams take on each other with separate competitions taking place for regular seniors, players over 65, and players over 70.
The event for 2014 is the first PGA Tour sanctioned event in which a par-3 course was used.
Jeff Sluman and partner Fred Funk took home the Legends Trophy, with “team Jim,” Jim Colbert and Jim Thorpe, winning the 65 and older division. In the 70+ division, Colbert won with partner Bob Murphy.
