PGA Results: 2013 Phoenix Open
What a fantastic weekend for not just golf, but sports in general.

Super Bowl 47
New Orleans, Louisiana
This year's Super Bowl was not a typical one. It was actually a competitive game. The game didn't start out looking that way as the Baltimore Ravens jumped on a big lead early over the San Francisco 49ers. Following a bizarre 34 minute stoppage of play while they figured out what light switch to turn back on (power outage), the 49ers came roaring back and made it a two point game. In the end, it was Ray Lewis's defense that made the difference, holding the 49ers on 1st and goal to NO points late in the 4th quarter. What a great finish to the brilliant career of Ray Lewis.

Waste Management Phoenix Open
Phoenix, Arizona
What a weekend for the fans at the craziest venue on Tour. Nearly 200,000 people per day attend the Phoenix Open, and I think all of them are on the insane 16th hole.
What a weekend for Phil Mickelson. On Thursday Phil had a birdie putt lip out on the 18th hole. It was close to dropping for a 59. The 60 put Phil in the lead, where he'd never give it up. Typically after super-low rounds, players can't follow them up. Phil put that stereotype to rest when he fired a 65 in round two.
Brand Snedeker made the tournament interesting, staying within striking distance of Phil clear through the entire final round. Phil's putter was unbeatable as he made long and difficult putts from just about everywhere. In the end, Phil would win by three shots.
With the win Mickelson has amazingly one at least once on Tour each season for the last two decades.

Omega Dubai Desert Classic
United Arab Emirates, Dubai
The Scots are happy this weekend. Their fellow pro golfer Stephen Gallacher made an eagle by holing out on the par-4 16th in the final round of the Omega Dubai Desert Classic. That eagle shook him loose from the pack and gave him a three shot margin. He'd take that margin to the clubhouse and claim one of golf's biggest trophies. Literally this trophy is easily 3.5 feet tall.
