Northwestern Mutual World Challenge
Sherwood Country Club
Thousand Oaks, California
The Northwestern Mutual World Challenge (formerly known as the Chevron World Challenge) is hosted by Tiger Woods. The event is an invite-only affair, with 18 of Tiger’s good PGA Tour pals competing for the first place prize of $1 million. Tiger has won this event five times, the last in 2011.
Woods entered the final round two shots ahead of gritty Zach Johnson. Down the finishing three-hole stretch, Johnson went birdie-birdie-par to close that two shot deficit and force a playoff.
All Johnson needed to do in the playoff was make par to beat Woods, who made bogey. Johnson will certainly enjoy the holidays a little bit more, with an extra million in the bank.

Golf’s “Most Interesting Man in the World,” Miguel Angel Jimenez, just broke the record for oldest winner on the European Tour by taking home the hardware at the Hong Kong Open.
It took a bit of work as Jimenez had to survive a three-player playoff with Stuart Manley and Prom Meesawat.
By the way, do you have any idea who the previous record holder was for the oldest winner on the European Tour?
Miguel Angel Jimenez
He set the previous record at the same event last year.
