PGA Results: 2012 World Challenge
World Challenge presented by Northwestern Mutual
The World Challenge, hosted by Tiger Woods, is the final chance for us to watch many of the best players in the world compete. The tournament is held at Sherwood Country Club in Thousand Oaks, California and has been known in the past as the Cheveron World Challenge.
The field of 18 featured many of the world's top 10-20 players. 2011 champion Tiger Woods finished tied for 4th this year, not able to get much going in the final round with a score of 71 to finish eight shots off the lead. Keegan Bradley, with his soon-to-be-illegal belly putter in hand, put on a great showing with scores of 69-69-67-69 to finish in 2nd place, three shots behind the leader.
Speaking of the leader, Graeme McDowell had not won a tournament in nearly two years. The Irishman may have finally settled down mentally as this past week he proposed to his long-time girlfriend. McDowell, also winner of this event in 2010, fired a final round 68 to win by 3 shots over Keegan Bradley and 7 shots over Bo Van Pelt.
Q-School Continues
The final PGA Tour Q-School to ever be contested has made it through five of the six rounds. This "most grueling test in golf" will award 25 players a card for the 2013 PGA Tour.
Today's final round at PGA West is on Golf Channel from 8-10PM ET.
