At the Honda Classic this past weekend two giants clashed. One a giant of years past, looking to regain his former stature and one future giant of the game, only 22 years old.
The giant of the past looking to regain his former stature, Tiger Woods, put on a Sunday charge like never before. Tiger's 62 was the lowest Sunday score of his Tour career. The charge, capped off with an eagle on the 18th hole, launched Tiger from a non factor to holding 2nd place and the clubhouse lead.
“Overall, my finishes have been pretty good since Australia on. It was just a matter of keep building, keep sticking with it. I’m hitting more solid shots, I’m making more putts, my speed is getting back.
“Everything is coming, and I just need to keep progressing. I just need to keep sticking with it, and it’s going to turn.” ~Tiger Woods
Could Rory McIlroy survive the Bear Trap without giving up his two shot lead with Tiger Woods in the clubhouse at -10? YES. Rory McIlroy, the game's future and now present giant, ascended to the #1 ranking in the world at the ripe young age of 22.
"I think it's fantastic for the game. The more that we can create interest in the game and get more people watching, it can only be good."
"You know, seeing Phil do what he did at Pebble; Tiger playing the way he did today; hopefully I'm in there somewhere, getting to No. 1; it's great for the game and I think everyone is excited for Augusta to roll around. I definitely know I am. Looking forward to getting back there and giving it another shot." ~Rory McIlroy

In the final round of the Panama Claro Championship Edward Loar had a very poor final round 74, four over par. Fortunately for Loar, he'd built up such a large lead he still managed to win the tournament by one shot.
"Its pretty gratifying. It is a lot of years of hard work." ~Edward Loar
Loar, a rookie on the PGA Tour, will be in action this coming week at the PGA Tour's Puerto Rico Open.
