This week the PGA Tour is in La Quinta, California for the tournament which used to be called the Bob Hope Desert Classic. It is now called the Humana Challenge and the tournament has changed.
In the past the tournament was a celebrity format with the likes of Bob Hope, actors, comedians, presidents and of course tour players.
Now the Humana Challenge is about fitness and health since the title sponsor is a health services company. The tournament is all about spreading the word about fitness, eating well and preventing child obesity.
This fits right in with Friday Fun! Why? You can’t have fun if your unhealthy lifestyle has broken your body down to the point where you can’t walk, swing a club, or enjoy the game. Staying healthy means you can enjoy the wonderful game of golf well into your later years, like the ever-healthy 78 year-old spokesman for fitness Gary Player, who does 1,000 sit-ups and 1,000 push-ups every day.
Get on those sit-ups and see you on the course this weekend!
