Golf Games: 3 Format Tournament
Good Friday Frogger fans. Hope you are going to have a great weekend. I'm going to be playing in a two-man tournament this weekend which is a fun format, a combination of formats we've talked about here. The cool thing is that it is three tournaments in one. The tournament is 27 holes so each set of nine is a differing format. Lets check it out.
Formats
Alternate Shot - One player tees off on even numbered holes, the other tees off on odd numbered holes. The players alternately hit the shots until the ball is holed out. This is a difficult format to say the least. A lot of pressure.
Scramble - Each player tees off and the best of the two shots is selected for the 2nd shot. Both players hit shots from there. The process continues until the hole is finished.
Best Ball - Each player plays his own ball. Low net (or gross depending on formats) hole between the two players is counted as the score for the team.
Scoring
Since the tournament is 27 holes, par for the tournament is 36x3, 108 total. In this format we usually see that the winning score because of the best ball and scramble is in the low 90's.
Variance
If you don't have 27 holes available for the tournament, a mini-version would be the exact same format but play only six holes of each format. 6x3=18.
