Golf Courses: Red Hawk Ridge

Colorado is the home of many fantastic golf courses.  One special public course is Red Hawk Ridge, an affordable public offering with country club quality conditioning and amenities.  Red Hawk Ridge's home town is Castle Rock, not far from Denver proper. Design Red Hawk Ridge is the creation of Colorado's Jim Engh.  Engh has several completed projects in Colorado. The course routes through some great, rolling mountainside terrain.  The vistas and views one finds at the course are awe inspiring.  Most of the golf holes feature some kind of elevation change.  Some of the holes feature dramatic elevation changes which challenge the player both in intimidation as well as distance calculation. The course carves its way through mountain scrub oak and native grasses, through the sloping terrain. Stats Red Hawk Ridge boasts five sets of tees so players of every ability level can find an appropriate challenge level for their game. From the longest set of tees, the course plays to a yardage of 6,942 and a par of 72.  Slope from the tips is a challenging 130 with a rating of 71.8. Amenities A spacious clubhouse offers everything a golfer needs, from rental clubs to apparel to clubs.  Food and beverage facilities are excellent.  Outdoor seating by the Clubhouse Grill is very enjoyable, watching players finish the 9th and 18th holes. The practice range has 35 turf stations where players can hit to target greens with flags.  The practice green is a spacious 3,000 square feet.
