The stars are back on the PGA Tour, despite the absence of Tiger Woods. At the Crowne Plaza Invitational, two of the biggest stars ended up tied for the lead at the end of regualtion following final round 66’s.
Jason Dufner and recently crowned world number one Adam Scott were tied at -9 at the end of regulation. A solid playoff between these two bigs began, taking three holes to determine a winner. Both players made par on the par-4 18th, then birdie on the par-4 17th. The playoff returned to the 18th where Adam Scott made a birdie three to take the victory, further solidifying his position as the #1 golfer in the world.
An odd happening on the other end of the leaderboard at the Crowne Plaza Invitational was the scoring of Rickie Fowler. Fowler missed the cut, carding rounds of 80-75 on Thursday and Friday.

It was quite an unbelievable week for former world number one Rory McIlory. Earlier in the week the sad Irish golfer announced the split from his fiance Caroline Wozniacki. That split up happend embarrassingly after the two had sent out wedding invitations.
Youth has its advantages apparently. The young Irishman shut off his phone, gave away his laptop, and concentrated on his golf. The rebound was quick and that focus paid off with a victory at BMW PGA. The comeback was quite impressive, from seven shots behind going into the final round. A deficit like that is nothing that five birdies on the final round can’t help remedy.
McIlory, who dropped from world number one to 10th, should move back up to sixth when the world golf rankings are updated.

Jessica Korda started out the LPGA Tour season well, with a victory at the season-opener in the Bahamas. Add another victory from this past week at the Airbus LPGA Classic. Korda fought off the likes of Michelle Wie, Charley Hull and Catriona Matthew, capping it off with a 15-foot birdie putt on the final hole.
