It has been a huge month for the Web.com Tour. With the new structure implemented this year, the Web.com Tour is the “path to the PGA Tour.” Pretty much the only path. The Web.com Tour graduates 50 total players to the PGA Tour by the end of the Web.com Tour Championship. 25 of the players get their Tour cards by finishing in the top 25 positions on the money list at the end of the regular season. Another 25 gain their Tour cards based on their finishes at the end of the Web.com Tour playoffs.
Chesson Hadley finished two shots ahead of the nearest competitors to claim the 2013 Web.com Tour Championship, his 2nd victory on the season. With that win he claims the largest 1st place check on the year at $180,000.
Now the top 50 are set and getting ready to take a shot at the big Tour. The 50 players include some familiar faces and some not-so familiar faces. On the familiar side there are names we’ve heard before, like Ricky Barnes, Daniel Chopra,Sean O’ Hair and Masters Champion Trevor Immelman. Up-and-comers in the 50 to watch this coming season include #1 money winner on the Web.com Tour Michael Putnam, Chesson Hadley, Seung-Yul Noh and Patrick Cantlay.

Returning First Tee Open champion Kirk Triplett successfully defended his title this past week at Pebble Beach.
Triplett entered the final round three shots behind leader Tom Lehman. A solid round of 68 (-4) to Lehman’s final round 74 produced a six shot swing and a two shot victory for Triplett over Doug Garwood and Dan Forsman.
Said Triplett about Pebble Beach, “I just have a great affinity for the place.”
The LPGA Tour and PGA Tour were not in action this past week.
