PGA Results: 2013 AT&T Pebble Beach Pro-Am

Phil Mickelson came in as the hot player, having nearly shot 59 the week before.  But Phil's week wouldn't pan out terribly well as he slipped and fell hard while looking for an errant shot near the beach at Pebble.  Later the same shoreline would cost him a couple of balls and a snowman. 2012 FedEx Cup Brand Snedeker came into this week with two runner-up finishes.  This time he closed the deal, winning by two shots over Chris Kirk.  With the win Snedeker moves up to first place in FedEx Cup points, 700 points ahead of Brian Gay and 726 ahead of Phil Mickelson. Champions Tour Allianz Championship The Old Course at Broken Sound, Boca Raton, FL It goes without say that Rocco Mediate is one of the most liked professional golfers on the planet.  His fun personality and and high energy golf style have won fans over for years.  Since the U.S. Open playoff duel between Rocco and Tiger Woods, Mediate has been a little quiet, waiting for his 50th birthday and the opportunity to play on the Champions Tour.  That 50th came and Rocco didn't waste any time as he won his first event on the 50 and older circuit, the Allianz Championship.  Mediate edged out Tom Pernice Jr. and Bernhard Langer by two strokes. With the win Mediate cashes a $270K check and gains valuable Charles Schwab Cup points. European Tour Joburg Open Royal Johannesburg & Kensington Golf Course, Johannesburg, South Africa South African Richard Sterne didn't find Royal Johannesburg & Kensington Golf Courses to be a "stern" test this past week on the European Tour.   The European Tour veteran of some 204 starts finished at -27 while the nearest competitor Charl Schwartzel was seven shots back. With the win Sterne moves to the top of the Race to Dubai standings.
