Fred Couples turns it on at Turnberry, Senior British Open
The seniors were contesting a major this past week, the Senior British Open at Turnberry in Ayrshire, Scotland. How fun was it to watch another week of links golf? Two weeks ago we had the Scottish Open, then last week the British and now this week the Senior British.
Fred Couples recorded the two shot win at the Senior British over the nearest competitor Gary Hallberg. The nearest competitors from there were a massive five shots back. Couples week was highlighted by a brilliant 3rd round 64.
Look for Freddy in the British Open next year:
"I've never won an Open Championship, so this is the next best thing. And I believe I now get into the (British) Open at Muirfield next year, which is great." ~Fred Couples

RBC Canadian Open, Hamilton G&CC - Ancaster, Ontario, Canada
Scott Piercy proved that he's not a one hit (win) wonder, by recording his 2nd PGA Tour victory at the RBC Canadian Open in Ancaster, Ontario, Canada.
The normally aggressive Piercy changed his game plan to match the course. He left the bomb and gouge style at home and went for a more conservative, precise approach. The game plan worked to perfection as Piercy recorded a final round 67 to secure a one shot victory over big hitter Robert Garrigus, who held the lead after three rounds.
"I've been playing good for a while now, and you just need a couple of good breaks here or there. I felt like I got a couple of good breaks and continued to play solid, and I'm kind of speechless. I'm really excited to be the champion." ~Scott Piercy

Evian Masters - Evian Golf Club, Evian-les-Bains, France
The ladies contested the famous "5th major" this past week in France. The 5th major isn't just saying, this tournament is actually a 5th major now.
Inbee Park added a 2nd major championship to her golf resume by winning the Evian Masters by two shots over Stacy Lewis and Karrie Webb.
"How would I describe in words? It feels great. It's been four years. It felt like more than four years. Just really happy." ~Inbee Park
