Australian PGA Championship
Palmer Resort Coolum, Coolum Beach, Australia
Final event of the Australasian Tour season
Australasian Tour rookie Daniel Popovic was an improbable victor this week at the Australian PGA Championship, but that's why they play the game. Popovic held off a surging Rod Pampling and Geoff Ogilvy to secure a wire-to-wire victory. Ogilvy could have locked up an invitation to the Masters had he finished 3rd, which would put him in the world's top 50 at the end of the year. A game of inches, Ogilvy missed the opportunity and finished one position off in fourth place.
