PGA Results: 2012 Arnold Palmer Invitational

Well Tiger Woods is officially "back" now after winning by FIVE shots yesterday at the Arnold Palmer Invitational at Bay Hill. I watched every second of the final round and was quite impressed with Tiger's all around game. It seems the game is all put together right now. Perfect timing with the Masters coming up next week.
The final group yesterday consisted of Tiger Woods and Graeme McDowell. I really thought McDowell would give Tiger a better run, but after starting with a double bogey on the first hole that train derailed a bit.
A lot of fans felt bad for Ernie Els, who needed to finish 3rd or above to qualify for the Masters. He was very close, but lost it in the end, especially on the 18th where he came up short and had to blast out of the mud to try and save par.
There was some great concern at the end of the tournament yesterday, as Arnold Palmer wasn't there to meet Tiger Woods on the 18th. Arnold meeting the winner on the finishing hole has been a long standing tradition. Apparently some new medications were not working well, and his blood pressure increased enough that he was taken to the hospital. Reports later said he was doing fine but would be in the hospital overnight for observation. “Nobody is overly concerned about his prognosis,” said Palmer’s business manager, Alastair Johnston

Despite Tiger Woods winning, Yani Tseng is the most dominant player in professional golf right now. Tseng won this past weekend's Kia Classic by SIX shots over Sun Young Yoo at the La Costa Resort in Carlsbad, California. This marks her 15th career win at only 23 years old.

Despite a couple of bogeys in the round, Fred Couples had a birdie chance on the final hole of regulation to win the Mississippi Gulf Resort Classic. That final hole was the toughest hole on the course all week. Couples calmly drained the winning put to avoid a playoff with Michael Allen.
Couples will play on the PGA Tour this week at the Shell Houston Open, then the Masters next week.
