Luke Donald
As
mentioned in the weekend preview last week, world ranked #1 Luke Donald had the opportunity to do something which had never been done before, win the money titles on both the PGA Tour and European Tour. If Donald could finish better than 9th at the Dubai World Championship, and/or Rory McIlory didn't win it, Donald would finish #1.
Alvaro Quiros moved ahead of Tiger Woods in the world rankings with the win in Dubai at the Dubai World Championship, but that news was trumped by the fact that Donald did in indeed secure the European Tour money title by placing 3rd after a final round 66.
"I played extremely solid, consistent golf all year winning four times and playing right at the right moments. I think it is testament to my hard work and it’s nice to see it paying off." ~Luke Donald
Donald's hard work did pay off, especially if you look at the stats. Donald was #1 on the European Tour in Stroke Average, Putts Per Green In Regulation, Driving Accuracy and Greens In Regulation.
Franklin Templeton Shootout
Keegan Bradley and partner Brendan Steele won the Franklin Templeton Shootout, also known as the Shark Shootout. The Shootout is a three round, team competition which covers alternate shot, better ball and final round scramble formats.
In the final round Bradley and Steele's scramble score was an astounding 59, which secured a three shot win over the nearest team of Rory Sabbatini and Jhonattan Vegas.
