PGA Preview: 2012 WGC Accenture Match Play Championship

World Golf Championships It is Thursday but there has already been a fantastic day of action yesterday at the first round of the WGC Accenture Match Play Championship.  Check yesterday's post for the schedule and info on the WGC. PGA Tour While the top 64 in the world are playing in the match play event, the rest of the tour is in Mexico for the Maykoba Golf Classic. The Mayakoba Classic is contested at El Camaleon Golf Club, a Greg Norman design.  Located in the Playa del Carmen region on the Gulf of Mexico, the course is a par-71 measuring at 6,923 yards.  The course ranks just above middle of the road in difficulty, so expect to see some low scoring. Big names in the field this week include Tom Lehman, Jerry Kelly, Lee Janzen, Charles Howell III, Jason Gore, Greg Norman, Jose Maria Olazabal, Rory Sabbatini and Jhonny Vegas. The LPGA Tour is in Singapore at the HSBC Women's Champions.  The tournament is played at Tanah Merah Country Club's Garden Course.  Karrie Webb is the defending Champion. The Nationwide tour is off until the Panama Claro Championship, March 1st in Panama City.
