Wow what a week this is going to be. One could argue that the SIX biggest names in modern era golf are in action. Read below.
PGA Tour
Wells Fargo Championship
This week the PGA Tour is playing Quail Hollow in Charlotte, North Carolina for the Wells Fargo Championship. The field is stellar. Tiger Woods is in action for the first time since the Masters. According to a pre-tournament video which Tiger posted on his web site this week, he has "fixed" the swing problems with caused him errant shots at The Masters. His explanation, bad posture. We shall see if the fix takes hold under tournament pressure.
Other big names playing the Wells Fargo include Phil Mickelson, Rory McIlory, Hunter Mahan, Lee Westwood and Jim Furyk. The field is very strong and personally I'm hoping to see Tiger, Rory and Phil dueling it out on Sunday.
Quail Hollow Golf Course is a private track which opened in 1959. The course is a par-72 measuring out at a yardage of 7,442. The final three holes of the course with pars of 4-3-4 are very difficult. These final finishing holes called the "Green Mile" should provide some good theater and drama coming down the stretch.

Champions Tour
Insperity Championship
The Champions Tour is at The Woodlands CC in Woodlands, Texas to contest the Insperity Championship.
Notables in this week's field at the Insperity include Hale Irwin, Fuzzy Zoeller, Corey Pavin, Ben Crenshaw and Tom Kite.
The big news for this week on the Champions Tour is the grouping for a special 18 hole Saturday tournament. Following the final official tournament tee times, an 18 hole event takes place. The foursome includes (are you sitting down?) Jack Nicklaus, Arnold Palmer, Gary Player and Lee Trevino. This is likely the last time this group will ever play together. Make sure your DVR is setup properly for this one folks.

The LPGA is officially off this week. An unofficial event is taking place Saturday and Sunday in Rio de Janeiro, Brazil. That event is a 36 competition called the HSBC LPGA Brasil Cup.
