LPGA Tour
We will lead off with the LPGA Tour this week. The U.S. Women's Open is this week in Kohler, Wisconsin. This event is not sponsored by the LPGA, rather it is put on by the USGA - United States Golf Association. The Women's Open is the longest running event on the LPGA schedule, starting back in 1946.
The host course for the Pete Dye designed Open is Blackwolf Run, Championship Course in Kohler, WI. Opened in 1988, Blackwolf Run was named Golf Digest's best new public course. The course is a challenging par-72 which will play this week at 6,984 yards. The venue will help produce some great golf and drama.

PGA Tour
The PGA Tour is playing The Greenbrier Classic at The Old White TPC in White Sulphur Springs, West Virginia. This tournament's purse is $6.1 million with the winner taking home $1.098 million and 500 FedEx Cup points.
Old White TPC opened in 1914 and is a traditional, tree lined track. The course is tight and long, a par-70 measuring around 7,274 yards. Recently the course has had a redesign with greens being rebuilt and fairways tightened.
The field is solid this week, with Tiger Woods coming off of last week's victory at Congressional. Can he make it two in a row? Other notables in the field include Phil Mickelson, Jim Furyk, Rocco Mediate, Dustin Johnson and Gary Woodland. John Daly is in the field as well, which is always interesting.
