Just mentioning the word "weekend" seems to bring on a good vibe, no? This weekend there are two entertaining events on tap in the golf world.
Dubai World Championship
The top two ranked players in the world, plus many other top ranked players, are playing in the Dubai World Champonship. Rory McIlroy (#2) is trying to beat out Luke Donald (#1) for the the Race To Dubai Title. In order for McIlory to bump Donald from the top spot, he'll have to win the championship and Donald will have to do something he doesn't do often, finish outside of the top 10.
"I've got to win and Luke has to finish outside the top nine or ten, whatever it is. I'm really not counting on him to do that because he's only finished outside the top ten about twice this year. So it's going to be a tough ask but I'll give my best and it would be great to finish the year on a high." ~Rory McIlory
If Donald manages to hold on, he'll notch quite an accomplishment in golf history by winning both the European and PGA Tour money titles.

Franklin Templeton Shootout
The Franklin Templeton Shootout is an event featuring 24 of the game's top players, paired up as two man teams. This three round event is held at Tiburon Golf Club in Naples, Florida and begins on Friday. The event is hosted by Greg Norman.
Round one of the Shootout will be a modified alternate-shot format, very high pressure and entertaining. Round two of the Shootout will be a best ball format. The final round is a scramble format. Look for mega low scores in the final round, thus a "shootout."
