We amateur golfers have a distance and accuracy problem. While much of that can be related to swing plane and the face angle of the club, much can also be related to WHERE on the club face the ball impacts. Our focus in today's Tuesday tip is finding the center of the club face.
Baby Powder
There's an easy way to fine tune your impact with the ball and make sure you find the sweet spot by putting baby powder on the face. Most baby powders come out of the bottle in a dusty cloud when you squeeze the bottle. Simply blow some powder onto the face to coat the face. If it isn't sticking, you can wet the face a tiny bit with a moist Frogger Amphibian towel.
Set up and hit a shot. Take a look at the face and see where the mark is. It will be obvious. If the shot is on the toe, move closer or adjust your swing accordingly. If the shot is toward the heel of the club, move farther away. If the impact mark is dead center, leave the range immediately and go to the course! You've got it!
