Golf Games: Wolf
"Lone Wolf" or simply "Wolf" is yet another animal golf game. This game however, is quite different than all of the other animals we've covered in the Friday Fun category.
There are many variations of Wolf. A minimum of four players is recommended. The typical Wolf game is best played with a five-some.
Throughout the variations, one concept remains. The first player to tee off is the Wolf. As each player tees off, the Wolf can choose a partner. He must choose the partner while that golfer's ball is in the air. Once a player's ball hits the ground, that person can no longer be chosen. A predetermined dollar amount per player goes into the pot on each hole.
If the Wolf chooses a player, his partner and he will challenge the rest of the group. In one variation of Wolf, ties will lose for the Wolf. In another variation, ties are ties and no money (bets) are won/lost.
If the Wolf does not choose one of the players, he then becomes the "Lone" Wolf and is taking on the rest of the group. If the bet is $2.00 on the that hole, the Wolf then has a bet against each player for $2.00. The play is Wolf versus the group's best ball.
The game can be very exciting and very costly for players who decide to take the chance and be the Lone Wolf but don't win. Conversely, the Wolf can beat four players out of the bet and win big.
