Golf Games: The Snake
Continuing on with our "animal" theme for Friday Fun, we are now following up The Rabbit and The Squirrel with The Snake game.
The Snake
Similar to the Rabbit and the Squirrel golf games, the Snake game can be played with any group of two or more players. Those players need not be in the same group either.
A player acquires the Snake by 3-putting on a green. The Snake stays with that player until another player 3-putts to take it away. Then the new 3-putter has the Snake.
Unlike the Rabbit or Squirrel, where the player who has them at the end of nine and/or eighteen holes gets paid a bet, the person who has the Snake at the end of nine or eighteen holes pays out to the rest of the players.
A Better Prize
In our group we don't play the Snake bet for money. Instead, the person who has the Snake at the end of nine or eighteen holes is the one who has the privilege buying all of the other players in the group a frosty beverage. Because of that policy, the Snake holder is quite popular. Mr. Snake can be the victim of many jokes and fun harassment.
