Shazam is a very fun and pressure packed putting-only game which can be played in any group of two to four players. There are some slight similarities to the snake game and the wolf game. Lets take a look.
In Shazam, players are betting against each other on three putts. The word Shazam can be called out at by players any time before the player putting addresses the ball. When called out, there is a bet between the player who called Shazam and the player putting.
Should the player putting 3-putt after the Shazam, that player owes the player who called the Shazam one betting unit, usually $1.00. If the player putting two-putts, the bet is even. If the player two-putting one-putts, that player wins double the bet.
Shazams may be called on any putt, even after a first putt. The bet starts from the point at which it is called. Therefore several Shazams may be in play on one player.
In a twist, a player may call a Shazam on himself, so long as he is outside the length of the flagstick. That player is declaring a bet between himself and all the other players in the group. If he one-putts, he wins one betting unit from each of the group. Three-putting means that player owes one betting unit to all members of the group. Two-putting means the bet is even.
