Golf Games: Pick Your Pro
Here's a fun golf game or tournament format which I see used usually during major championships like the U.S. Open or the Masters. Some call it "Sunday at the Masters" but I've seen locals call it "pick your pro."
Pick Your Pro
Before your round or tournament, each player is to pick a PGA Tour pro playing in the current Tour tournament, we'll say the Masters. Players combine their gross or net score with the final Sunday round of their pro partner. So let's say you shoot an 80 (gross format) and your pro partner is Phil Mickelson, who shoots a 67 on Sunday at the Masters. 80+67=147. Total score is 147.
This tournament format is a great Sunday morning format, where the players record their rounds in the morning and then watch the pros from the clubhouse or cafe in the afternoon.
Have a fantastic weekend and get out and play some golf!
