Golf Games: Arizona Shuffle

Lets talk about a fun golf tournament format today called the Arizona Shuffle.  No, that isn't what happens when you try to play every course in Arizona, but that sounds good too. The Arizona Shuffle is a team game which is played with 3-4 players.  Any kind of scoring system for the game is doable, from gross stroke play to net play to Stableford scoring. The fun and challenging part of this team game is the variance of how many players' scores will be counted, based on what kind of hole the team is playing. The first option is to score 3 players' scores on par-3 holes, 2 of the players' scores on par-4 holes and one player on the par-5 holes.  The scores of the players counted for each hole, once again in gross score, net or Stableford, count for the whole team. The second option is somewhat the reverse of the first.  On par-3 holes only one player's score is used while on par-5 holes three of the players' scores are used. A third option could be to vary the number of scores used based on any other factors, like the hole number, hole handicap or just random draw. Given the concept, any sorts of variations could be done, like scoring all four players on certain holes etc.
